You are going to have to deal with the fear of the unknown at every step of your personal growth but you are going to have to overcome the fear barrier. This episode is brought to you by my Goal Setting Guide. It is a free guide that you can download which will be available for you at the end of this blog. It is going to help you refine your goals and set them in such a way that they will be achievable and you will actually see success.

The other day I was in a restaurant with my family and the waitress that was looking after us was exceptional. She was positive, friendly, she had a smile on her face and nothing was a problem. It did not matter what we asked her for, she said “No problem, happy to do that for you.” She went out of her way to make sure that we were looked after and that we were happy.

Now being in the States  at that time, I understood that great service is really tied to how well one is tipped. That is important for people who are in the service industry but it really got me thinking that  a “Can do” attitude is so essential to every aspect of one’s life. If you are trying to get ahead, if you are the person that is always willing to help others, willing to add value to others, willing to say “No problem, let’s give it a go,” then you are going to find more and more people are willing to add value to you. Now of course, we were really happy with our waitress’s service and we tipped her really well because we were just so pleased with the way she served us, but the kicker is this; there was a couple next to us and they were served by exactly the same waitress. She was exactly the same way with them yet they were complaining that they did not like her service and that it was not good enough.

In life there are always people that will complain. There are always people who will find that what you do is not good enough. Do not let those people get you down. Do not let those people stop you from being somebody who adds value to others. I truly believe that if you are committed to adding value to others, to being a can-do person, always willing to help, always willing to go the extra mile, people will support whatever you are trying to achieve. They are going to want to add value to your life.
